The FreeLunch Room
In Ancient Athens,
education blended creativity, imagination, and design skills into the curriculum.
As they studied the sciences, Athenians developed thoughtful reasoning, hypothesis, exploration, and problem-solving.
By the 1850’s, Nashville had been dubbed the Athens of the South as a result of the city’s dedication to EDUCATION through ART. furthermore,
the ability to read has always been one of the most important and fundamental pillars in American history.
I hypothesize,
Hip Hop, Rap (rhythm and poetry) and popular music can be the catalyst for a healthy
life of reading and creative exploration.
The artistry of rap allows an unapologetic release of emotions,
which if left unchecked can become detrimental to mental health.
I know we’ve always heard the phrase as “read&write”
I want to highlight the importance of READING, WRITING, AND EXPRESSING through the arts.
